Without the proper amounts of this necessary blood sugar changing chemical/hormone the blood glucose levels in the blood stream begin to rise to extremely high levels. Once they reach a certain high level the body organs begins to suffer cell damage to most systems. The major cell damage most commonly associated with high levels is severe nerve cell damage, heart cell damage, kidney cell damage, and severe eye cell damage.
