There is really no such thing as a normal blood sugar count, since so called “normal” sugar levels can be effected by the patients weight, build, age, and other health conditions. Only a physician can determine what a normal blood sugar count is for the individual and it is of utmost importance that sugar levels be maintained as close to “normal” as possible to head off the myriad of detrimental effects that come from constantly elevated or decreased sugar levels.

For starters there are two types of diabetes, type one which usually begins to cause problems in early childhood, and type two which usually becomes a problem during the adult years. The body needs sugar to function, not table sugar, but a special sugar called glucose which the body processes from the foods we eat. In order for glucose to be used by the cells it requires a hormone called insulin to be present in the blood.

Insulin is produced by the pancreas and in type I diabetes the pancreas has either a decreased or completely absent insulin production and requires that the patient inject themselves with insulin in order to keep their normal blood sugar count somewhat normal. Type two diabetes also results from poor or absent insulin production but is often manageable with special diets or oral medications.

As a general rule the normal blood sugar count for a healthy person should be between 80 and 100 milligrams per deciliter. As stated before this is a general rule and cannot be applied to every person in every circumstance. When it comes to the correct answer for what a specific persons normal blood sugar count should be the person’s physician should be the one to make the ruling because they are familiar with all the person’s healthcare needs and how they may affect individuals normal blood sugar count.

Is there really a such thing as a normal blood sugar value? Normal blood sugar values can be found in several locations such as online through the American Diabetes Association. Normal blood sugar values are a great way for medical professionals all over the globe to judge and determine if someone needs a various treatment related to their diabetic glucose readings.

Without normal blood sugar values being predetermined for the diabetic patient and the medical staff to go by our bodies would be having a yoyo inside our body, up and down, up and down whirlwinds because our blood glucose wouldn’t be able to stay regulated long enough for all of our organs to work properly so our bodies would go into shock from all of the constant number changes and blood glucose levels. By having normal blood sugar values our doctor’s and physicians know how to treat us if our numbers are out of whack and not maintained.

Normal blood sugar values allow us to have a steady number so that we can determine how much insulin we need to take, what kind of prescriptions we need to take and also what kind of foods to put into our bodies in order for all of our organs to work properly and smoothly together.

Normal blood sugar values allow us to regulate the amounts of blood glucose in our bodies so that our organs can work smoothly in order for us to maintain a healthy living life style, otherwise our organs would start shutting down due to being overworked or over balancing each other. If our bodies and organs are not working together then one may give out which in diabetics is generally the kidneys, that’s why a lot of diabetics end up having to go on dialysis because their kidneys start working overtime in order to regulate all of the sugar that is in our bodies trying to keep our bodies regulated.

What is the normal range for blood sugar? For diabetics keeping a normal range blood sugar level is key to survival. Diabetes is where the pancreas stops or slows in the creation of essential chemical called insulin. Insulin is a chemical that the body uses to change the sugar in the bloodstream into fuel that the cells can use. When there is not enough insulin the sugar levels may rise. When the sugar levels reach to high levels the body begins to become damaged. The damage that most diabetics take is damage to the heart, eyes, nerves, and kidneys. The damage cannot be reversed so it is key to control your blood sugar. So what is normal range for blood sugar?

For normal people a normal blood sugar range is anywhere between 60 mg/dl and 120 mg/dl. (the amount depends on when the last meal was eaten and the size of the last meal eaten) When glucose levels get over 140 mg/dl it begins to damage the body so it is key to use diets, glucose monitors, and exercise. Diets are a main weapon against high blood sugar. You are what you eat, so diabetics must eat foods that are low in sugar to keep from having high blood sugar. Glucose monitors allow you to check your blood sugar at anytime. They are small handheld devices that can be carried in a pocket book or pocket, allowing a supreme amount of versatility. Exercise also contributes to controlling high blood sugar, so talk to your doctor about a possible exercise routine.
